SMM connects sponsors to children for a long period of time. Children can thus receive financial support from the time they start kindergarten up to the completion of their vocational training. Donations are forwarded to Mennonite Partner organizations overseas via IMO (http://www.imo-info.net/), a trusted Mennonite Relief organization.
The Mennonite Partner organizations overseas choose which children to support according to social criteria for the sponsorship program. They supervise the children homes, manage the money, and ensure its use in the intended manner.
Sponsors receive regular information about the child they support, mail can be exchanged in order to develop a personal relationship. Those interested in sponsoring a child should contact margrit.ummel@bluewin.ch
The SMM is an association formed, commissioned and authorized from all Mennonite communities within the Swiss Mennonite Conference. Donations are tax-deductible in Switzerland. Including those donated in 2017.
