SMM initiated an emergency aid project for Roma people who are suffering in many European countries. School kits, relief kits, as well as new underwear and socks for children were collected and brought from all over Europe to the Mennonite European Regional Conference, which took place in Sumiswald, CH in May 2012. The material was transported to Serbia and Albania, distributed to the Roma people by the organizations “Bread of Life” (Serbia) and “Virginia Mennonite Missions” (Albania).
